I joined the Augustus White Institute for Healthcare Equity to continue to advocate for health care for all patients and to improve culturally competent care. Also, as a young man, I attended Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and was inspired by its pastor, Dr. Martin Luther King.

Dr. Gibson has given considerable time and resources to social action initiatives on behalf of others. Through his affiliation with the National Medical Association, he has raised funds to provide four, 4-year scholarships for African American medical students based on financial need; organized a hypertension screening clinic at Shilow Baptist Church in Medford, Massachusetts and has been a host family for a Better Chance students.
